Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure, and a retinal exam.
Ocular Disease Management
We use the latest technology to detect eye health change at its earliest stage. Our team ensures that each patient maintains their best possible vision and eye health. At Clarivision, we treat dry eye, multiple forms of infection/inflammation, glaucoma, and monitor any possible eye health change caused by diabetes and/or high risk medications. We also offer emergency eye care. We accept most major medical insurance plans to cover your eye health assessment and eye disease treatment.
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings
Almost everyone is a candidate for contact lens use. This includes patients with astigmatism and also those who prefer bifocal or multifocal lenses. At Clarivision, we offer a comprehensive array of contact lenses to suit each individual patient's needs. We offer daily disposables to extended wear soft lenses to gas permeable contact lenses. We offer regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult to fit patients.
Pediatric Eye Care
We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We want to insure good sight, vision, and eye health for the rest of your child's life and take a preventative approach to their general health and eye health. We will work with your child's primary care physician to help keep their eyes healthy. It is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make the visual demands of learning in school easier and more fun.
Post Trauma Vision Syndrome
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) can cause problems with your vision, blurred or double vision, sensitivity to light, near vision discomfort, abnormal eye movements, visual motion sensitivity, eye pain, or headache. Treatment can either fix the problem completely, improve your vision, or help you better manage the problem.
Low Vision Rehabilitation
Low vision is the loss of sight that can not be corrected with regular glasses, contact lenses, or surgery. However, low vision isn't blindness, as limited sight remains and it can be improved with the use of visual aids. At Clarivision, our doctor will carefully assess your remaining vision by evaluating decreased distance vision, decreased near vision, central vision loss, peripheral vision loss, reduced contrast sensitivity, and problems with photophobia, glare, and lighting. A variety of low vision devices may be prescribed after evaluation to improve both sight and quality of life.
Emergency Eye Care
We offer emergency services that require immediate and urgent eye care. If your experience a sudden change in vision, an injured or painful eye and/or experience other vision symptoms, such as double vision, flashes/floaters, or visual field defect, don’t try to judge the severity of it. Immediately call us at 203-806-1601 for emergency eye care to lessen the risk of hurting your vision.
